I began my professional career as a pilot, but made a shift at the end of the 1990s. I've been a Programmer, a Business Intelligence Analyst, a SQL Developer and everything else in between: whatever I've been asked to be. I'm currently using my software skills to help members of the U.S. Armed Forces maintain their aircraft. ( CORRECTION: I am currently using my knowledge of SQL systems to be a Database Administrator for the U.S. Army. The rest of this Summary still applies. ) I have always focused on delivering the highest quality product that I can. I will do a task the first time to the best of my ability. If I have to do the same thing a second time, I will improve on the process. If I'm asked to do it a third time, I will automate it. I believe that quality is driven through standardization and well-documented processes. One of the highest compliments I have ever been paid was from an insurance carrier while I was working as a SQL analyst. He told me, "Thank you for sending me such clean and accurate insurance enrollments. Every error we receive in these files is potentially someone's wife sitting in a dentist's chair wondering why her dental care isn't being paid for." I keep that email to remind me of the importance of being accurate with what I do.
